Russian Imperial Stout became popular among the high society of St. Petersburg during the time of Empress Catherine the Great in the 18th century, when she began ordering the variety from England for the imperial court. In December 2023, Baltika brewed Russian Imperial Stout to honor tradition and allow modern consumers to appreciate the taste and aroma of this historic variety. A warming dark beer with a rich and complex aroma, the rich taste of which intertwines the sweetness of caramel and roasted malt with a distinct hop bitterness.
